Updating navigon maps
This data is processed by Garmin so that it can be used by our navigation software.
Road networks are subject to constant change: new roads are built, streets are designated one-way, etc.
@AIA304 - I don't think it makes any difference what version you are on.
When 8.1 is released, it will go out per Tesla's schedule to as many cars as they decide to send it to. My car just recently received 8.0 (17.6.15) and was on 8.0 (2.52.22) before that.
Garmin receives the data from the digital map specialist company Navteq.
The "fun" ones are when it wants me to do down a one way street. That would have been a year ago, and yes, the maps are seriously out of date.
Why they don't simply provide Waze on the Google map is beyond me.

That means your satnav’s maps will become less accurate as time goes on.
